Reserve your place for the Writing Ashram in June 2023. This is a binding booking. You will receive an invoice for the course fee within a few days (€980 if you pay yourself or €1250 if an institution will cover the costs).
The Writing Ashram is a training for focused writing. It follows the idea that the challenge of writing can be productively mastered with the technique of monastic life. The goal is to provide you with an optimal working environment to dive deeply into your writing: The writing ashram invites you to withdraw from all ordinary obligations and dedicate yourself completely to your writing.
The daily schedule in this “retreat” is fixed and takes into account the need for exercise, healthy food, exchange and rest. In addition to the direct text result of the intensive working time, you will sustainably expand your writing competence: you will learn more about the logic of your personal productivity, improve your self-organization and use your resources for writing success more effectively.
The course fee is €1.250 for writers whose participation is funded by a university/research institution/employer/funding program. Self-paying participants pay €980 (please select when booking). In addition, there are costs for accommodation (single room, private bathroom, full board, two snack breaks per day,… approx. 800€ in Viktorsberg). These costs will be paid during your stay. These costs will be paid on the day of arrival on site.
The word “ashram” [Sanskrit] is the Hindu equivalent of monastery and means “place of effort”. The course is a secular offering and is eligible for funding through universities, graduate schools, mentoring and equity programs. The course is also a recognized educational leave in some German federal states (Berlin, Brandenburg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Niedersachsen, Schleswig-Holstein, other states upon request).
Location: This Schreibaschram will take place in the Seminarhaus Viktorsberg in the region of Vorarlberg (Austria). Your arrival and departure is your own responsibility and at your own expense. All further information: www.schreibaschram.de.
